Software Development Manager

Oneupweb requires an experienced software development manager—ready for a challenge and not afraid to get their hands dirty. You must serve as a team leader, mentor, architect and programmer that has the ability to merge best practices with real world business needs. Obviously, you have to be likable and respected in order to motivate greatness from your team and you must be able to communicate effectively with other management in layman terms (geek-speak is not understood by everyone). But we also need a visionary that can translate our needs into working technologies that serve the company and its clients. Ok—on with the particulars.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience developing software systems with broad coverage of the software development life-cycle
• Minimum of six years of coding experience with advanced Perl, Python and Ruby on Rails
• Experience designing new solutions, refining existing code, and optimizing dynamic web content within a LAMP environment
• Significant experience as a developer in an Object-Oriented environment designing multi-level architectures
• Experience with source control systems such as CVS, Subversion
• Well versed in SQL and mySQL database architectures and maintenance
• Ability to work in a lead capacity with strong interpersonal skills, take initiative with projects and act independently as needed
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple project deadlines
• Proven track record of on time/on budget delivery – detailed oriented
• Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work with innovative solutions
• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Willing to relocate to the Traverse City area
