As many of you Facebookers know, there have been some drastic changes to your beloved network. And now even more updates have arrived! Today let’s take a look at a few, and I’ll give you my take.
First, over the last 48 hours I have taken time out to observe some of the social media conversations taking place concerning the updates. Of course, there were a lot of complaints being blasted across networks, but to my surprise, I also witnessed a lot of response to those complaints from supporters of the updates. We live in a time and age where innovation key. And many have opened their minds to exploring what the new changes can offer and what opportunities they could bring to the future in this ever increasingly utilized platform – both on a personal and professional level.
So, what does the CEO of Facebook, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, have in mind for these recent updates?
Well, at the 4th annual F8 conference here’s what he said.
“The next five years, the next era, is going to be defined by apps and the depths of the engagement that is now possible. Now that everyone has their connections already in place and this whole network has already been established.”
During one of the first reveals he presented the “Timeline.”
Zuckerberg went on to further explain other updates and the reasoning behind each one. He explained their benefits and much more. I don’t know, personally I think there are some great opportunities with these updates, especially after watching Zuckerberg’s keynote. I am curious (and open) to see where this can go–particularly from a Brand viewpoint. Honestly, any companies, celebrities and so on, not on this whole social media wave (and I don’t just mean Facebook) are missing out on some great opportunities to grow and expand their brands.
