Jansen Tolle, Senior Developer

I’ve been building for the web for over 15 years. I started out at a small agency, spent some time at a fortune-500 engineering firm, and wound up back in my hometown of Traverse City at the best agency on the planet – Oneupweb. I am a lifelong computer nerd, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to make the web a better place along with some of the best creatives in the industry.

What’s your average day like at Oneupweb?

Every day provides unique problems to solve and plenty of opportunity for variety, but one constant is that Oneupweb has been a great place to be – every single day. I start my day very relaxed, with a delicious, caffeinated beverage (…maybe more than one) while I catch up on administrative tasks and complete my ~30 minutes of reading. After that, I spend the day tackling unique technical challenges, writing code, and providing technical expertise to clients and colleagues.

What do you like most about Oneupweb?

Everyone at the office is so funny. On days when I am feeling a little down I always find myself laughing at something outrageous being said, and it brings me back to a happier place.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I have put 500 miles on my e-bike in the past few months. I am pretty obsessed at this point. It’s been great – I can bike to my grandma’s out in Leelanau just to say hi instead of burning two gallons of gas.

What are life’s simple pleasures?

Good headphones, a new album, some coffee, and a comfy chair.

Describe yourself in three words?

Intergalactic code wizard
