Let’s Get Dirty: The 2009 Oneupweb Rebrand Process (Week 5)

Posted on in Blog

We’re in the final stretch. It’s so close I can taste it (but not actually. Like I would really lick the screen. Gross!). Tomorrow is our new official launch date for our all new, completely redesigned, never before seen website.

Consequently, it’s also the day when all four designers, our Director of Marketing, CEO and myself breathe a big sigh of relief.

We all stayed late every night this past week, except for me. On Friday I had the worst case of Montezuma’s Revenge. But let’s not even go there.

As the designers are finishing up the final pieces, the rest of us are going through the site with a fine tooth comb, making sure everything works in all of the major browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. It all needs to be functioning properly in all of these browsers before we can launch. It goes back to usability. One of our prospective customers might use Safari to look at our site, and if isn’t functioning properly, may abandon us for a competitor. So we run a bunch of tests, and go through each browser one by one to ensure that doesn’t happen.

We also filmed the last of the videos to be put onto the site. It involves a high-powered blender. And I have to say, I was shocked at the capabilities that thing had.

Spoiler Alert: Will it blend?! With this blender, yes it can!

Sidetrack: We were in the middle of a group-hug meeting (don’t worry, we can get it all done, no one stress out) when my CEO asked, “has anyone seen Fett’s Vette?” I thought it might have something to do with our rebrand, so I looked it up on YouTube. I think she pulled that one out of mid-air, but it’s worth taking a look.

And back to the business at hand. Tomorrow’s site launch. The case studies have been filled in, our creative samples are posted and even Bret Michaels makes an appearance. It’s the launch of a century, something you won’t want to miss! Look for my blog tomorrow, announcing the new website and giving you a play-by-play of the best features to check out.

And don’t forget to read all about our process to this point in our other Let’s Get Dirty blog posts.
