One for the Road: Lansing

Posted on in Blog

We’ve set up shop for the day in Sharp Park on Elmwood Rd. in Lansing. The sun is out, and we have a great view of the pond and waterfall. There is also a twirly slide mixed in with the playground equipment that I might have to try out later.

But okay, on to the business side of things. For those of you who are wondering why I’m posting about Sharp Park, seven Oneupweb employees (including CEO Lisa Wehr) are on a Michigan road trip. We’re making stops in Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids and Traverse City, offering our online marketing consultations for free to any Michigan business that stops by. No slimy sales pitch. No required magazine subscriptions. Just one Michigan business reaching out to help others.

Yesterday we had a great day in Ann Arbor, and today is off to a good start in Lansing. WILX stopped by earlier to shoot some of the action, and I’m listening to Lisa speak with a reporter from the Lansing State Journal. But the press isn’t why we’re here.

It’s about the businesses we can help. And we’ve had quite a few stop by in just the 2.5 hours we’ve been here. One even drove four hours to meet with us. ¬†And the more we talk with business men and women, the more we learn how passionate they feel about getting involved with online marketing – for now, and to prepare for the future.

From SEO and PPC to social media and usability, no two businesses have been the same or had the same need. But that’s okay. We’ve assembled a whip smart team of online marketing experts who are ready to provide personal consultations to everyone who visits us or calls our hotline at 877-833-0667.

We’ve also been busy interacting with people on Twitter and Facebook, posting photos to Flickr and videos to YouTube. Check them out, you can follow our entire trip. And each day, it gets a little more interesting.

I have to confess we’re a little nervous about the weather tomorrow in Grand Rapids. But if it rains, we’ll still be in John Ball Park. We’ll just invite you inside the motor home (and believe me, it’s worth a look!). So please, stop by and visit us. Or give us a call.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on the road.
