Oneupweb: Vimeo Gets New Features
The popular video sharing site, Vimeo, has recently added a few new handy features that improve video SEO, quality, and user privacy.
Customize Your Videos’ URLs:
Before this addition, Vimeo video URLs looked something like this http://vimeo.com/17853140 (eww), but now the feature, which is currently rolling out to all users, allows for the creation of custom URLs. With this option, your URLs can look like this: http://vimeo.com/oneupweb (beautiful… so vivid, so bright)! Customizing your URLs will make your videos easier to find for users and search engines.
Set Videos to High-Definition Quality by Default:
Many Vimeo users thought there were some videos that deserved HD quality, and Vimeo agreed! With that, users can now set their embedded videos to HD by default. Users with slower speeds can always change back to standard definition, but for those quality buffs— HD is the way to go! Also, with a Vimeo Plus membership, users can now upload up to 5 GB at a time. Now that’s HD.
Increased Privacy Options:
Vimeo users have requested the ability to hide their activity for some time now, and Vimeo has heard their cries. Users can now hide the activity module on their profile page, increasing privacy for users.
Vimeo is doing a good job of listening to user feedback and implementing those ideas, which is why more videographers are making the move from YouTube to Vimeo. How do you like the new features?
