Google-Sponsored Event at Oneupweb

Event Date: Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Event Time: 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Event Place: Oneupweb Headquarters, 13561 S. West Bayshore Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684

As teased briefly in a prior blog, Oneupweb is teaming up with Google and hosting a free event open to all business owners and managers. Let’s Put Traverse City on the Map is part of Google’s Get Your Business Online Program and aims to help small businesses make themselves more readily found and discovered online. The workshop agenda includes discussing current digital trends, addressing how and why digital marketing matters today, and will feature a lesson about how to put your company on the map with Google+ and Google My Business.

Shawn Finn, Oneupweb’s director of paid strategy, says, “If you want your business to be found online, you must have an online strategy. If you don’t have an online strategy, you should definitely check out our workshop. We’ll equip you with the necessary information you need to get started.

“This new year will bring great success to those that embrace digital marketing. It is essential for all businesses, specifically small businesses in the Traverse City area, to have the ability to be found online,” says Finn. “That’s because being that Traverse City is a destination town, visitors don’t necessarily know about all of the wonderful places to eat, shop, relax and enjoy in the area.”

According to Soo Young Kim, marketing manager for Google’s Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map Program, “Businesses that are online are expected to grow 40% faster than those who aren’t. Small businesses are the engine of local economies and when they flourish, their communities do as well.” Google also says that 97% of Internet users look online for local products and services yet 55% of small businesses do not have an online presence.

Let’s Put Traverse City on the Map is a free 90-minute workshop designed to empower local businesses and encourage them to get on the digital map. Local businesses keep our communities strong. When we help them succeed on the web, they make our communities even stronger.
