Twitter is helping two brands convert followers into sales–how else can social channels reach target consumers?

A constant topic around social media is how to convert a social follower or user into a sale. Well, over the past month, two brands: Starbucks and Loews Hotels & Resorts have started to do just that. By leveraging Twitter’s 232 million users, the luxury hotel has started taking reservations and the ubiquitous coffee chain is allowing Twitter users to gift a cup of coffee by sending a simple Tweet. Beyond just the sale, Starbucks is using their “Tweet-a-Coffee” campaign as a type of word-of-mouth advertising that allows users to share their love of Starbucks coffee with others.

Besides Twitter, there are other ways to reach customers on your social media. It can be as simple as sharing a wonderfully designed infographic or creating a contest or promotion that takes your users on a scavenger hunt across all your social networks. Just remember, social media is all about engaging with people, and doing it in creative ways
